Are Plastic Clarinet Reeds Any good?
I'm in eighth grade playing a Vandoren 3 and 1/2 reeds.
are plastic reeds any better? There's nothing wrong with my tone if you think that size is too thick for me.
plastic reeds are not good... they don't move and flex like a bamboo reed does... they are more expensive and don't give you nearly as good a sound.... your doing well playing on the vandorens... as far as playing on a 31/2 that seems a little thick for a beginner.... maybe a 3 will do you well.. you make think there is nothing wrong with your tone, but my money is on that it is a little raspy and your not able to hold out notes as long as you could. for the best tone, i would suggest a vandoren b 45 mouthpiece as well. don't think that you have no room for improvemtn on your tone because there is always room for improvement.....
